PARTNERS IN ELEGANCE

FFR - FRENCH RUGBY UNION

Title

Thanks to its history and the personality of its founders, Eden Park has always been intimately linked to the French Rugby Federation. It's no surprise then that the brand with the pink bowtie has been a partner of Les Bleus since 1999, with the first contract signed on the eve of the fourth Rugby World Cup - the first in which Franck Mesnel had not participated as a player.

For the former fly-half, sharing the brand's values with the team that carries the nation's colors is a dream, and each time the French XV arrives at a stadium dressed in their Eden Park outfit, it represents a moment of great pride for him. In the city, the brand strives to always be in tune with the times, but around Rugby fields, it also possesses a certain legitimacy, as it understands and adapts to the needs of the players and the FFR.

Today, Eden Park is the elegance partner of the French XV, both French women's teams, the Under-21s, Under-19s, Under-18s, Under-17s, as well as the women's and men's Rugby Sevens teams (recently crowned Olympic champions in Paris).

IRFU – IRISH RUGBY FOOTBALL UNION

Since May 2011, Eden Park has forged a new elegance partnership with the Irish Team. Simple coincidence or not, since that date Irish rugby has continued to gain momentum, to the point where the men in green are now ranked among the very best teams in the world.

In 2019, for example, after securing their first historic victories against New Zealand, Ireland became No. 1 in World Rugby's official rankings for the first time. In July 2022, once again surpassing the All Blacks, Springboks, and other Blues, Ireland climbed back to the top of the rugby world, only relinquishing their place 15 months later, following their quarter-final defeat at the 2023 World Cup.

A land of rugby, strong traditions and respect for opponents, great travelers, Irish players – who are often seen wearing the small "Papillons du Ciel" brooches on the lapel of their Eden Park blazer – are today role models for all oval ball enthusiasts. And with their diaspora across the planet, Ireland and its captain Josh Van Der Flier (Eden Park ambassador for Anglo-Saxon countries) represent 80 million people who closely follow the breathtaking performances of the Irish XV.

FRENCH HANDBALL FEDERATION

Title

Three-time Olympic champions, six-time world champions, four-time European champions, the French handball team is the most decorated men's handball team of all time. Whether they're called 'les Barjots' or 'les Experts', the French team has dominated world handball since 1995, and under the guidance of their coach Claude Onesta, strongly insisted on being dressed by Eden Park, in order to affirm their status as ambassadors of French sport.

Very close to rugby players in spirit, they are the only team in the world to have retained an Olympic title in this sport (gold medals in 2008 and 2012), as well as the first team to have simultaneously held the three major trophies – Olympic Games, World Champion, European Champion – twice in 2010 and 2015. "It's an immense pride for us to dress these men who carry France's colors high," insists Franck Mesnel. "It's a team that perfectly illustrates fantasy within rigor, qualities dear to our brand."

RACING 92

Title

The founders of Eden Park undeniably earned their stripes under the Sky Blue and White of Racing Club de France. Having launched the brand after experiencing defeat in the 1987 French Championship final, Franck Mesnel and Éric Blanc finally achieved their holy grail by triumphing in the 1990 final at Parc des Princes, on their home turf. For them, it was only natural to give back to the club that helped them grow throughout their careers.

This partnership with one of France's oldest clubs also perpetuates the connection between the antics of the Racingmen of the 80s and 90s, and the reality of the brand today. French champions in 2016 with former All Black Daniel Carter at the helm, Jacky Lorenzetti's Racing 92 is now chaired by Laurent Travers; it's one of the most formidable teams in French and European rugby.

IDEC SPORT is an entity in its own right, the sporting branch of the IDEC Group, which brings together all partnerships under one single banner. While Patrice Lafargue has a true passion for motorsport, his competitive spirit has led him to invest in several sports, whether in football alongside Vineuil Football Club, in Rugby in Top 14 with USON Nevers, or in Basketball with Union Poitiers Basket 86.

The IDEC SPORT entity also has its own LMP2 and LMP3 racing team. Team IDEC SPORT participated for the 7th time in the 24 Hours of Le Mans during the centenary in 2023. The team also takes part in the Michelin Le Mans Cup in LMP3, with its two LMP3 drivers, Dino Lunardi and IDEC GROUP president Patrice Lafargue.

IDEC SPORT is particularly marked by the partnership with Francis Joyon which lasted over twenty years, with numerous successes such as the maxi-trimaran IDEC SPORT holder of the Jules Verne Trophy (crewed round-the-world voyage completed in 2017 in 40 days, 23 hours and 30 minutes). Or Francis Joyon's record on the 2018 Route du Rhum solo race in 7 days 14 hours and 21 minutes.

THE ANGOULÊME FILM FESTIVAL

Title

Every year at the end of August, Angoulême becomes the international capital of cinema, and Maison Eden Park has been proud to support, since 2013, this unmissable event that is the French-Language Film Festival. Created in 2008 under the impetus of Marie-France Brière and Dominique Besnehard, admired by Franck Mesnel, two iconic figures of French television and cinema, it has undeniably become the major event for promoting French-language cinema. Fostering the emergence of young talent, opening the cinema season in France, promoting encounters between professionals from all French-speaking and Francophile countries, these are the strengths of this remarkable festival, of which Eden Park is proud to be the elegance partner.

"Cinema is a world of dreams in which creation, cultural references and improvisation are omnipresent," observes Franck Mesnel. Just like the world of rugby and fashion where year after year Eden Park forges its path by revisiting and modernizing eras.
